First Word and Cute Phone Pic

It took me a week or so to accept it but Ned is saying his first real word! Both kids have said "all done" occasionally but not consistently so I decided that phrase didn't count. Ned is obsessed with animals - he squeals in delight with dogs and shrieks with joy at the sight of Scotia. "Kitty" is his first word. He crawls toward her saying "titty, titty" (hee!) but you can sort of hear a "k" too.

I have yet to test if he understand that word with respect to all cats or just Scotia. Don't you love "experimenting" on your kids? What was your kid(s)'s first word?

Also, Penny loves sticking her tongue out - but she always puts it to the side. Here's a mobile phone photo to play along with Laura's Phone Fridays.

Nice!! I'm pretty sure Burke's first word was Fish...but Kitty was one of the next ones.

Book! I couldn't have picked a better one if I tried. It was followed closely by Mama and Dada but... I think I'm happier about "Book" than "Mama."

Congratulations, Ned!

I'm sure Ned will be sharing this story with fraternity brothers some day. :)

I'm not sure if Max is actually saying words. If he is, however, he's bilingual. He says Mum/Mama/Ima (hebrew). And he says Dada/Aba. He tends to say these respective things to the correct parent, but not always. So who knows.

As much as I know there were some "Mama's" thrown around, I really think that both of our girls said "Dog". It sounds a little like "Duck", but they have been consistently saying this when they see our dogs (or any other dogs). So interesting that several 1st words were animals. Guess we know where we are on the chain of command!

Mommy? Daddy? I can't remember! How sad! But I do know that I kept a list of their first 25 words! Congrats NED!
